Rose, an affluent Lebanese mother and housewife, is preparing obsessively for her daughter’s engagement party, determined to make everything perfect for the arrival of the future in-laws. She lights candles, arranges chocolates, and squeezes an excessive amount of orange juice, all while retreating to the bathroom with a bottle between tasks. Downstairs, her husband yells insults, criticizing everything in sight.
