CAN I SEND YOU A DVD OR A HARD DISK FOR FILM VIEWING?

We only accept private viewing online links to be included on the submission form. The link should be viewable directly online without downloading it first.

I HAVE MADE AN ERROR ON MY ONLINE SUBMISSION FORM. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

To update your existing film information, please log in again using your RSIFF username and password. Once on the dashboard, you can click on "View Submission" which will take you to the list of films or projects submitted and edit/update accordingly. An automatic confirmation email is sent once your submission has been received.

DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL FEATURE AND SHORT FILMS?

RSIFF's accepts films of the available sections for submissions from films qualifying as African or Asian (including Arab region). These films should either be made in Africa or Asia, be financed/produced or co-produced by African or Asian entities, or be films with a director, prominent cast or crew from Asia or Africa. Filmmakers from African or Asian diaspora can also qualify if they have made films in the rest of the world.

AS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS SUBMISSION, WHEN SHALL I SUBMIT THE FINAL CUT?

For work-in-progress submissions, we strongly advise you to submit the most updated version before our submission deadline, August 18th. If your film gets selected, RSIFF submissions will then advise you on the final cut deadline.

Feature films are those that are equal to or exceed 60 minutes. Short films do not exceed 59 minutes.

WHAT PREMIERE STATUS SHOULD MY FILM BE?

We require an Arab region premiere for any film that wants to play in the festival, except for New Saudi/New Cinema and Tajreeb. Films of any length and premiere status are eligible for the Tajreeb section.

WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM STRANDS?

Please check our website for more information regarding our various film programs. The Festival programmers shall decide which section or competition to place submitted films, irrespective of the category that they had been first submitted.

DO YOU ACCEPT ROUGH CUTS?

We encourage films that are at the fine cut stage at least. Sound and color mix are not necessary at the submission stage. But the film must be ready to screen and received by October 22nd at the very latest if the film is selected.

DO YOU ACCEPT SCRIPTS?

We don't accept scripts as film submissions. A completed online submission form and an online viewing link of the entire film are required.

CAN WE REPLACE THE LINK WITH AN UPDATED CUT?

Yes, but only if we ask for it. You must inform the submissions team before resubmitting, and the selection committee has the right to refuse the updated viewing version of the film.

We advise all passwords submitted upon submissions to be valid until submissions are officially closed. If the password needs to be changed, make sure to notify us immediately.
