The Music & Sound Program

The program will select a group of professional music composers from the Arab, African, and Asian regions, offering them the opportunity to learn from world-renowned film composers and industry-leading experts.

This initiative aims to elevate the composers’ skills and deepen their understanding of the art and craft of film scoring. Participants will explore the unique characteristics of film scoring, familiarize themselves with its diverse terminology, and gain insights into the technological tools that contemporary composers utilize. They will also develop the multilayered skill set required to create original scores that meet the industry’s highest standards. They will also be exploring the art of sound design through specialized workshops.

Throughout the program, participants will benefit from the industry professionals’ expertise as they share their invaluable insights and experiences in film scoring. Hands-on workshops will provide practical training on specialized topics, ensuring that the participating composers gain real-world skills. Additionally, the program will foster connections among participants and industry professionals, promoting relationships that can support their future careers in film music. Guided by renowned film composers, this program promises a transformative experience for the participants.

Submission requirements

  • Biography: A 1-2 paragraph biography providing an overview of your work background, experience, and interests.
  • Previous Work: Share a short film, feature film, TV show, or other relevant work samples.
  • Provide a private Soundcloud link to a playlist showcasing a selection of up to 5 of your best compositions, preferably including film-scoring cues

  • Provide the available links to your website, LinkedIn, and social accounts.
  • Upload a profile picture/headshot in JPEG format
.
  • Upload a CV in PDF format: List your professional experience as a music composer.
  • Upload an introductory video: A short video (2-3 minutes) telling us about yourself, your work experience, and why you’d like to join the program.

What Do I Need to Submit?

All submission requirements can be found above. Only materials submitted in English will be considered.

Will participants pay for travel and accommodation?

All travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the Foundation. Meals during the workshops only will be covered.
