In this way, cinema is able to express the intimate and untold lives and dreams of girls and women in societies the world over in a powerful and direct way. In the words of Juliette Binoche, cinema can 'heal against ignorance'. A film can can be an act of resistance and solidarity. It can change lives.
Our panel will talk to three women filmmakers about how they've told their stories - and why that act of resistance means more than ever today.
