When Mikhael brings his giggling Norwegian girlfriend Mona to meet his Ghanaian family for the first time, he is convinced they will embrace her. Things start badly, however, when Mikhael’s mother brings out a lasagna – “white people’s food”, as an auntie at the table sneers – but go from bad to worse when Mona greets everyone in Swahili – not their language – and tries to entertain everyone with a frantic pan-African dance. She couldn’t get it more excruciatingly wrong if she tried.
