The Red Sea Film Foundation Announces Its Participation at the Tenth Edition of Saudi Film Festival

As part of its leading role in supporting and promoting the film industry in Saudi Arabia, The Red Sea Film Foundation (RSFF) is proudly announcing its participation in the tenth edition of the Saudi Film Festival, scheduled to take place from 2 to 9 May 2024, at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran.The Red Sea Film Foundation’s participation comes in line with its vision to enhance cooperation with prominent festivals locally and internationally and reflects the Foundation’s efforts to promote Saudi cinema through participation in a special booth within the production market, and showcasing a film supported by the Red Sea Fund, “Fever Dreams,” in the official lineup of the festival competition. Moreover, the Foundation sponsors a financial grant for the best short Saudi film screenplay.

Organized by the Saudi Film Association in partnership with King Abdulaziz World Cultural Association (Ithra), the Saudi Film Festival is a prominent film event that celebrates the Saudi film industry and enhances its position through film competitions, script development, and a number of other cultural programs and workshops. It represents a meeting point for Saudi filmmakers from across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Red Sea Film Foundation’s participation in the tenth edition of the Saudi Film Festival is aimed at connecting with Saudi talent. Representatives from the Foundation’s programs include Red Sea IFF programming team, Red Sea Souk, Red Sea Labs, and Red Sea Fund which is dedicated to providing grants to film projects across the film industry.

Festival visitors can also enjoy watching “Fever Dreams”, the Godus Brother’s second film supported by the Red Sea Fund, featuring Suhaib Godus, rising star Najm, Nour Al-Khadra, Fatima Al-Banawi, Hakeem Jomah and a number of other Saudi talents. Through a comedic adventure, the film tells the story of a notorious retired football star ‘Abdul Samad’ and his daughter ‘Ahlam’, searching for social media acclaim.

Since its inception in 2020, The Red Sea Film Foundation has participated in several prestigious local and international festivals, presenting a series of innovative programs and initiatives in the fields of production, distribution, education and training, in line with its mission of fostering the next generation of filmmakers and building a sustainable film industry in Saudi Arabia, Africa and Asia.
