The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has announced its sponsorship of the Red Sea Souk during the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, held at Culture Square in Historic Jeddah from 4–13 December 2025. This sponsorship marks CDF’s fourth consecutive year supporting the region’s leading film festival. CDF participates under the theme “Investing in the Future of Films Industry”, aiming to attract local and global investment into the Saudi film sector and support projects across the entire value chain.
CDF’s participation includes a main pavilion in the Red Sea Souk area from the 6th to 10th of December, which serves as the festival’s dynamic hub bringing together local and international film industry companies. The Souk provides a global platform for showcasing film projects and promoting commercial opportunities. Through its pavilion, CDF aims to engage industry stakeholders and introduce its financing solutions offered under the Cultural Financing umbrella. The pavilion also features the Riviera Content Fund, the first film investment fund of its kind in the Kingdom, in which the Cultural Development Fund is a principal investor.
As part of the festival’s broader activities, CDF will participate in several panel discussions to highlight the rapidly growing momentum of the film sector in the Kingdom, its economic potential, and the promising investment opportunities it offers to entrepreneurs and investors. CDF will also host a workshop titled “Cultural Financing for the Film Sector”, presenting its film-financing solutions and guiding enterprises on how to benefit from the Cultural Financing.
In parallel with the festival, the CDF will host a networking event that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and leading filmmakers from the Kingdom and around the world. The event will showcase the CDF’s financial solutions and investment opportunities that drive growth in the Saudi film sector and enhance the cinematic production landscape. This participation comes as an extension of the strategic partnership between the Cultural Development Fund and the Red Sea International Film Festival, now in its fourth consecutive year. This partnership reflects the CDF’s role as a center of excellence and the key financial enabler for the cultural sector in the Kingdom. It also aligns with the CDF’s efforts to stimulate cultural entrepreneurship, support enterprises within the cultural sector, and attract investments that enhance the sector’s economic and social impact, contributing to the Kingdom’s GDP and overall quality of life, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
