The Red Sea Souk Project Market is now accepting submissions for Projects-in-Development or Production and Works-in-Progress, set to take place during the 5th edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, running from 4 to 13 December 2025 in Al-Balad, Jeddah’s historic district. Scheduled from 6 to 10 December, the Souk will gather filmmakers, producers, investors, and industry professionals from across the world. The application deadline is 20 June 2025 for the Projects-in-Development or Production and 29 July 2025 for the Works-in-Progress.
These two programs are designed to discover and support emerging filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab region, Africa, and Asia—enhancing co-production opportunities, expanding international reach, and connecting creators with influential figures in the global film industry. The Project Market will feature 12 selected Projects-in-Development or Production, spanning fiction, animation, and creative documentary, all directed by filmmakers of Arab, African, or Asian nationality or origin. Selected teams will receive tailored mentorship, participate in pitching sessions, and take part in one-on-one meetings with potential partners including sales agents, distributors, and festival representatives. These projects will also be showcased alongside the 12 Red Sea Lodge selected projects in development.
The Works-in-Progress will present eight feature films currently in post-production, screened exclusively to accredited industry professionals. Each participating director-producer team will receive expert feedback from seasoned editors and benefit from targeted exposure to key players in international distribution and exhibition.
This is a unique opportunity for filmmakers to access funding, connect with decision-makers, and bring their stories to audiences around the world.
