- The program empowers emerging voices aged 10–16, with their films showcased at the Festival’s fifth edition
The Red Sea Film Foundation has announced the launch of “Voices of Tomorrow” an initiative designed to give young Saudi talents, aged 10 to 16, the opportunity to share their stories through short films that will be showcased during the upcoming Red Sea International Film Festival, set to take place in Jeddah’s historic district “Al-Balad” from December 4–13, 2025.
Selected films will be screened on December 9, 2025, in the presence of the young filmmakers and their families. The program will conclude on December 10 with an awards ceremony recognizing two standout films with cash prizes and trophies, to be decided by a youth jury.
The selected films will revolve around four themes that reflect the everyday experiences of youth: homeland, school, family, and friendship. Through these topics, participants are encouraged to explore their sense of belonging, personal growth, and human connections using the medium of cinema. The program also provides a complete professional experience—attending screenings, engaging with juries, and joining a dedicated celebration—designed to build their confidence and nurture their creative ambitions.
Commenting on the launch, Faisal Baltyuor, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, said: “Voices of Tomorrow’ reflects our conviction that the next generation will shape the future of cinema. The program invests directly in their creativity and potential, giving them the platform to share their stories and take their first steps into the world of filmmaking—underscoring our ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging and young talent.”
By launching “Voices of Tomorrow” the festival reaffirms its mission to empower the next generation of storytellers, strengthen the foundation of a sustainable film industry, and build a vibrant future for cinema in Saudi Arabia.
