Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield bring humour and exceptional personal chemistry to this compelling tale of love, marriage, and heartache. The movie's unique feature is that the narrative skips back and forth in time across a decade so that we absorb all of their lives – highs, lows, romance and parenthood – as a jigsaw puzzle that helps us understand their decisions in the different phases of their relationship. It's a real tearjerker that shows how ambitious chef Almut meets Tobias, a data cruncher whose marriage has just ended, and then they fall in love and have to cope with all the hurdles put in front of them. When Almut decides to enter a high-stakes cooking championship the tension between them boils over.

Ten-year-old Claire loves her family’s annual trip from the US to Italy, where they always spend a snowy Christmas at her beloved grandfather’s hotel in the Dolomite mountains. This year, however, they go in the height of summer; her parents are splitting up and want Lawrence (played by the inimitable Danny de Vito) to explain the situation to her. Claire’s immediate response is to insist that they must have Christmas right away, with all the celebration’s trimmings, even flying in her other set of grandparents for the occasion. She is pinning her hopes on the tradition’s charms to persuade her parents to stay together – a plan that backfires when her grandparents’ marriage also starts to wobble. The year is 1946. Under the strict orders of their father, Adam drags his younger brother Ali to witness their grandfather's corpse get washed before burial. Their cousin Iman, their constant playmate, is excluded from the ritual because she is a girl. The sight of the corpse has a profound effect on Adam; he announces that he doesn’t want to grow up and, from that moment on, he stops aging. As the years pass, the villagers come to believe Adam is cursed, while his brother, grappling with his own aging, feels Adam should be institutionalized. Only Iman and Anki, a shepherd and Adam’s lifelong best friend, see his condition as a blessing, preserving in him the pure, innocent goodness of a child. A haunting and beautiful story set against the oases and dust storms of Iraq.
