Fred meets Roxana by chance when he looks out of a window and sees her car window being smashed. Fred is 23, jobless and infuriatingly passive; his failure to grow up is so comprehensive his own mother calls the police to take him away, complaining he still doesn’t make his own bed. Roxana is vivacious, modern, runs her own wedding video business and has a daring way with a hijab. Fred gets her car fixed and she gives him a job in return but, even when he finds himself in jail on the way to his first wedding, he has no inkling what a magnet for misfortune she is, with bankruptcy looming over her and some very shady characters in pursuit.
