In-Conversation with Amir El-Masry

Amir El-Masry is an Egyptian-British actor who began his artistic journey with major hits in the Arab world, notably Ramadan, Mabrouk, Abul-Alamein, Hamouda and Talata Yeshtaghloonaha. He then proceeded internationally, featuring in the cinematic film Lost in London alongside the renowned star Woody Harrelson. Subsequently, Amir El-Masry took the lead by starring in the film Limbo, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival, won three awards at the Cairo International Film Festival, and earned Amir the Best Actor award at the BAFTA Scotland Awards. The film was also nominated for Best British Film at the 2021 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). Following this success, Amir El-Masry delivered a series of successful projects both locally and internationally. He co-starred in the series The One, portrayed the character of Mohamed Al-Fayed in the international American series The Crown, and appeared in the British series SAS Rogue Heroes. In 2023, Amir El-Masry received overwhelmingly positive reviews and critical acclaim for his role in the British film In Camera, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, then the London Film Festival, and is currently competing in cinemas across the UK and Europe. He also participated with his film Club Zero, directed by Jessica Hausner, in the official competition at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, and made a special appearance in the film A Haunting in Venice. Amir El-Masry is currently awaiting the release of the international film Giant, which tells the story of the rise of boxer Prince Naseem Hamed. On the local level, El-Masry took the lead in the Egyptian films Rista and Hashtag Gawwezni . He also co-starred in popular TV series including El Ekhteyar 3, the musical comedy Magnoona Beek, and the series Maliha. The release of Amir's upcoming film, Kossas, co-starring Nelly Karim and directed by Abu Bakr Shawky, is also highly anticipated.

• يمكن لحاملي الشارات إلغاء حجز التذاكر حتى 60 دقيقة قبل موعد العرض عبر التطبيق أو الموقع الإلكتروني أو من خلال شبّاك التذاكر.
• التذاكر غير المُلغاة وغير المستخدمة تُحتسب تحت حكم عدم الحضور .

RedSeaIFF Ticket Terms 

• Tickets are non-exchangeable, non-refundable, and cannot be resold.
• Seating is guaranteed up to 15 minutes before the start of the screening and panel.
• Late arrivals are seated at the Theatre Manager’s discretion.
• Programs, schedules, and venues are subject to change.
• Proof of age may be required for age-restricted films.
• Recording devices are strictly prohibited in all screenings and panels • Badge holders may release tickets up to 60 minutes before the screening via the app, website, or Box Office. Unreleased and unused tickets will count toward the No Show Policy.

Photography and Recording Notice

By entering any RedSeaIFF venue, guests acknowledge that photography, video, and audio recording may be taking place. Attendance at the Festival constitutes consent to appear in such material and authorizes its use without compensation.
