RED SEA SOUK PROJECT MARKET
Discover and connect with the most exciting Arab and African filmmakers from across the region!
The Project Market is composed of the following:
- A selection of 10-12 projects will participate in a workshop to prepare a video pitch/proof of concept (2-3 minutes video). The workshop will take place on-line during the month of October 2021.
- A pitching session in front of an industry audience will take place on the first day of the Souk where the teams will present their video pitch/proof of concept.
- The teams will participate in one-on-one meetings with the industry professionals attending the Souk.
- Networking, encounters and meetings will allow directors and producers of the selected projects to interact directly with industry decision-makers.
Project Market Awards
All selected Projects will compete for the Red Sea Souk Awards to be granted by a jury consisting of one development grant of US$25,000.00 and one production grant of US$100,000.00 offered by the Red Sea Fund. More awards will also be granted by the Festival’s sponsors.
How to submit your project?
The selection of the projects is made through the Red Sea Fund application process for development or production. The Festival is also scouting and hand-picking projects.
Submission to the Red Sea Fund is open from June 15, 2021 and will close on July 21, 2021.
We will be looking for projects meeting the following criteria:
- Special attention will be given to projects by directors who have made at least one feature film in fiction, animation or documentary.
- The project has international market potential and is suitable for international co-production.
- Script and artistic dossier are available in English.
- The project has not started shooting.
