The Red Sea International Film Festival announced today the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with the Filmakademie Baden Württemberg GmbH in Ludwigsburg, Germany, to launch the Short Film Klinik Program, targeting promising filmmakers and scriptwriters.
The program will include three workshops for scriptwriting, in addition to a subsidized production period for a whole year, in the presence of the participants. One script from each workshop will be selected by the jury and developed for production, supervised by a dedicated specialized production team, in addition to providing funding grants for the production of the three films.
The first workshop will take place in Jeddah in December 2022 during this year’s edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. The second workshop will be held in conjunction with the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2023, followed by a third workshop in the United Arab Emirates in May. The film production phase will take place from October through November.
