ADRIEN BRODY won the Academy Award and Cesar Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of real-life Holocaust survivor Wladislaw Szpilman in THE PIANIST, making him, to date, the youngest person to have received the Oscar in that category. His performance also earned him Best Actor honors from the National Society of Film Critics and the Boston Society of Film Critics, and nominations for Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Awards. Most recently, Brody starred in Wes Anderson’s ASTEROID CITY, which marked Brody’s fifth collaboration with the auteur director and premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The film broke the record for best per theatre average on its opening weekend. Earlier this year, he guest-starred in Rian Johnson’s new crime-drama series POKER FACE for Peacock, Dexter Fletcher’s GHOSTED for Apple TV+, and John Trengove’s MANODROME, which premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival. Next up, he will star in the second season of HBO’s drama series, WINNING TIME: THE RISE OF THE LAKERS DYNASTY, about the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s, in which he plays legendary basketball coach Pat Riley. Previously, Adrien starred in Netflix’s BLONDE, opposite Ana de Armas, and Searchlight’s murder mystery, SEE HOW THEY RUN. He also had a pivotal role in the third season of HBO’s hit show SUCCESSION, for which he garnered a 2022 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. In January 2022, Brody starred in CLEAN. Other recent credits include the television series CHAPELWAITE for Epix, based on a Stephen King novel, which he starred in and executive produced. He also starred in THE FRENCH DISPATCH and guest-starred in the fourth season of Steven Knight’s PEAKY BLINDERS on BBC and Netflix; the show centered on a gangster family in 1919 operating in Birmingham, England during the aftermath of the First World War. Brody runs a production company under the moniker Fable House Film. Recently, Fable House Films produced and funded the CLEAN, which Brody also co-wrote, scored starred in. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, before being acquired and distributed by IFC Films. Fable House Film’s past slate includes Daniel Lee’s DRAGON BLADE, Brian DeCubellis-directed adaptation of the Colin Harrison novel, MANHATTAN NOCTURNE, in which Brody also stars, and a documentary Brody co-directed alongside Kevin Ford called STONE BARN CASTLE. In 2015, Brody was Emmy and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) nominated for portraying Harry Houdini in History’s biopic, HOUDINI. The two-night original event debuted as the most-watched cable miniseries of the year. That same year he was seen in Wes Anderson's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, which won the 2015 Golden Globe for "Best Picture, Musical or Comedy" and was a 2015 Academy Award “Best Picture” nominee. That February, he co-starred opposite martial-arts legend, Jackie Chan, in DRAGON BLADE, which grossed a stunning $100M within its first two weeks of opening in China. The success of the film helped catapult the Chinese box office to beat the US box office in total monthly revenue for the first time ever and stamped Brody as an internationally bankable star. It also marked the start of his ongoing partnership with a core group of elite filmmakers and financiers in the venerable marketplace. Brody has worked with some of the most prominent film directors in the industry: Paul Haggis (THIRD PERSON); Peter Jackson (KING KONG); Ken Loach (BREAD AND ROSES); Wes Anderson (THE DARJEELING LIMITED and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL); Barry Levinson (LIBERTY HEIGHTS); Spike Lee (SUMMER OF SAM); Xiaogang Feng (REMEMBERING 1942); and Tony Kaye (DETACHMENT). Some other films in his filmography include: HARRISON’S FLOWERS; LOVE THE HARD WAY; THE JACKET; HOLLYWOODLAND; CADILLAC RECORDS; THE BROTHERS BLOOM; SPLICE; and PREDATORS. Brody first came to prominence when he played a leading role in Steven Soderbergh's KING OF THE HILL and for starring performances in two features for director Eric Bross: TEN BENNY and RESTAURANT. The latter earned Brody an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Brody also has a career as a painter and visual artist following the creative path of his mother, acclaimed photographer Sylvia Plachy. His first collection, “Hotdogs, Hamburgers and Handguns,” debuted at Art Basel in 2015; his second collection called “Hooked” at New York Art Week The following year. His paintings sell internationally for six figures, and he’s also raised millions for numerous charities through auctions and donations. Brody also regularly works with luxury brands, including recent collaborations with Armani, Chopard and Montblanc. He is also designing a series of standalone collections for Swiss luxury brand, Bally, which will include ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, bags and other accessories. Brody was born and raised in New York City, where he studied drama at LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
