Whether as a musician, writer, director or artist, Laurie Anderson has, throughout a 40-year career, always been one of the most renowned and daring creative pioneers. Best known for her multimedia presentations, innovative use of technology and first-person style, she is a writer, director, visual artist and vocalist who has created groundbreaking works that span the worlds of art, theatre, and experimental music. Most recently, Laurie Anderson has seized the opportunities offered by immersive technologies and, together with Taiwanese artist Hsin-Chien Huang, directed three groundbreaking VR works: "To the Moon", "Aloft" and "The Chalkroom". Their collaborations have won prizes at the Venice and Cannes film festivals. Now chairing the jury judging the Red Sea: Immersive Competition, she will discuss what fresh possibilities for storytelling these techniques have given her – and what she sees as their future.
