In-Conversation with Ranbir Kapoor

Running Time: 60 minutes

When your ancestors are some of the greatest names in Bollywood history, it takes some doing not just to follow in their footsteps but to create your own incredible legacy. Ranbir Kapoor has managed that; in the process, he has become one of the darlings of Indian cinema. The son of the recently deceased legend Rishi Kapoor and the grand actress Neetu Kapoor, the young Ranbir saw the ups and downs of being an artist and celebrity at close hand. Thankfully some of the turbulence didn’t put him off, and after starting out behind the camera, he made his acting debut in the tragic romance Saawariya in 2007. International superstardom and a bucket of awards came his way when he played a troubled museum in Rockstar (2011) and a dear-and-mute in Barfli (2012). He recently came back from a four-year hiatus and showed he had lost none of his magic by starring in Brahmãstra: Part One - Shiva (2022), which is the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year thus far. In recognition of his career and his unique status in Indian cinema, Kapoor is receiving an accolade at the Red Sea Festival from the leading trade magazine Variety, who will be hosting a very special interview with the actor on stage at the Red Sea IFF.
