The Red Sea 48HR Film Challenge returns for its sixth edition, inviting young Saudi and Saudi-resident filmmakers to create an original short film in just two days. A collaboration between the Red Sea International Film Festival, the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise, and the French Consulate in Jeddah, the challenge is designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and innovation while supporting the development of emerging film talent through a fast-paced, immersive filmmaking experience.<\/p>

The organizers invite applications from teams of creatives aged 18\u201325, comprising up to five participants and led by a Saudi director.<\/p>

Selected teams will take part in an intensive mentorship workshop focused on short film production before embarking on the 48-hour challenge. Working around set themes\u2014including a surprise scenic or prop element revealed shortly before filming begins\u2014each team will write, shoot, and edit a short film ranging from three to six minutes in duration.<\/p>

The challenge will culminate in a series of Professional Days and screenings, bringing together participants and industry professionals through talks, workshops, networking opportunities, and film screenings.<\/p>

Two winning teams will be awarded Red Sea 48HR Film Challenge trophies, with the winning team leaders receiving an international residency opportunity in France in 2027. The winning films will also be screened at the upcoming edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival.<\/p>

The official ceremony for the Red Sea 48HR Film Challenge will take place in Jeddah in September 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
