In-Competition:Lavrynthos places you at the heart of the labyrinth of Crete to enfold you in the story of the unlikely relationship between the Minotaur and his next meal: a girl named Cora. The film’s great innovation is the maze itself, a two-metre square that – within the VR experience – becomes an infinite area that can shift in space and time. A 3000-year-old myth is thus given a modern make-over, updated with relevant new themes, while the revamped idea of the maze puts the visitor’s sense of direction, space and balance into a VR spin.
