Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir
A scriptwriter and director. With a BA in film direction, she teaches at the Mongolian School of Film, Radio and Television, as well as the Institute of Cinematography. She also has a degree in screenwriting from FAMU (Prague) and KinoEyes Masters (Lisbon). Her last short, “Mountain Cat” (2020) was screened at Cannes.

Winner of both the best short film in the Orizzonti section in Venice and best international short film in Toronto, Snow in September is a restrained drama about a Mongolian teenage boy (Sukhbat Munkhbaatar) who has teasing conversations with his classmate about love and manga images of women. When he meets an older woman who claims to be a friend of his mother’s, Davka realises his ideas of relationships and intimacy are about to change.
