YUSR AWARDS

The Yusr Awards recognize innovation and daring with the biggest prizes in the region. Expect the unexpected from emerging and established voices across fiction, documentary, and animated films. A spotlight on films from the Global South, including Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, ensures the Festival reaches across the region and beyond.

An international jury of world-renowned filmmakers and industry veterans awards the prizes, with members invited each year by the Festival Director. Including screenwriting, acting and directing, awards are presented across the following categories:

The Yusr takes its name from the distinctive black coral formations found in the Red Sea, along the coast of Jeddah's Old Town. Each award a unique sculpture designed by a leading Saudi artist selected through a competition.
